Two months later, in June, I Steve Daley has joined the company and this is were the fun began.

So far we were doing an extensive secondary and primary research in order to come up with the win-win business concept and a business plan for national and international business. Applicant profile – Royalty Stream Reporting

Founder Names: Paul Shiels, Adam Bruce
Startup Name: Royalty Stream Reporting
Website: http://www.mixspace.com/

History of your startup

RSR was born out of the need of having a system whereby clarity could be put to music licenses. Currently a blanket music license fee will go to the artists and labels whose music get played most on top TV and Radio stations (as this is how the collection bodies run their surveys) After starting up my own record label and assigning the rights of the tracks to the collection bodies PPI and IMRO 3 years ago to date i have not recieved 1 penny in royalty fees. Even though our music has been played at events and clubs from New York to Sydney we never seen a penny. We have now licensed technology that willl allow us in conjunction with the collection bodies monitor music usage from anywhere using digital audio fingerprinting technology. Our systems will be used in pubs clubs hotels festivals online radio retail outlets gyms aircraft marine and in any business that pays a music license. The reports that we generate will be sent back to the likes of PPI IMRO PPL PRS ASCAP BMI and so on and will allow them to accuratly determine the music royalties they owe and more importantly to WHO. The digital age allows us now to remunerate the people who work so hard to make their music available to you and up to now has not paid them fairly for that music usage. By using RSR businesses are supporting the music owners that they rely on to generate footfall. By RSR also feeding this music usage back to the music users website it effectivly allows them to create a new revenue stream by direct affiliation music sales and promotion. We Monitor We Recognize We Deliver and Fair Play should = Fair Pay

Why do you deserve to win?

We deserve to win because we are dealing with a 100 year old issue that has never been addressed. We will be working with music owners and music users alike to create new bonds and business opportunities and by this affiliation bringing clarity into an otherwise murky system. We are fighting for the music users that dont receive fair pay for fair play and the independent music industry is responsible for 30% of ALL music sales annually and growing. If a major labels music gets played they will get paid and this should be true for an independent also, RSR will make sure that this will be the case going forward around the globe and this will be the starting mark !

What you’ll do with the money?

The money will be used to develop an SDK (software development kit) 2000. We will also spend 1500 of the money on server hosting to see us through the first 6 months, The 1500 left over will go on building the website that will allow artists and labels from anywhere to upload their music for fingerprinting which will then allow us to track for them. All donators will receive benefits from RSR for life including music, tickets and recognition in all press and media kits.

Thank you for your time and for the opportunity to apply to this wonderful innovation. Good luck to all that apply !!!!

Applicant profile – MyProjectTracker.com

Founder Names: Barney Austen, Eoin Redmond
Startup Name: BAER Business Solutions
Website: http://www.myprojecttracker.com

History of your startup

BAER Business Solutions Ltd was established to provide hosted software product solutions for B2B use. Barney and Eoin have extensive experiences in the IT industry specifically in project, program and operations management along with technical expertise.

Our first product, MyProjectTracker.com, is a hosted product solution that will allow businesses to more effectively and efficiently track and control projects. While there is serious competition in the global market in regards to project management tools, from straightforward SaaS solutions such as Basecamp through to deployed enterprise application environments, there still was no obvious tool that catered effectively for business owners as well as the project manager. MyProjectTracker will fill this gap!

The company was formally founded in March 2009, though work on the MyProjectTracker project started in August of 2008. Barney is working full time in the business and Eoin is providing direction as a board member at present while working on other roles.

We have partnered with Contrast to provide the actual solution and are working with other third parties in the areas where we need help – specifically sales and marketing. We have out-sourced in Ireland totally and have done this to ensure that our cost base is minimised as much as possible.

We have invested our own savings to date and have been approved for a CEB grant (due this month) and all other monies have come from the old reliables i.e. loans, overdrafts and the credit card!

We are getting ready for beta-launch!

Why do you deserve to win?

We believe that we have found a real market for our product both in Ireland and abroad. We have a great passion and vision for where we want to take our company and not just the MyProjectTracker product. Our previous working lives have allowed us to identify a real opportunity in hosted application suites providing functionally rich, but value driven products that will really assist frustrated business owners.

We intend to grow the business beyond the two man operation it is today i.e. it is not designed to be a lifestyle business. We intend to create employment in the areas of product management, technology and customer support.

We are a “do-ers” not talkers. There is, regardless of what we read in the papers, a real dynamic in the Irish business market place – specifically amongst micro/macro and SME companies. While everyone is suffering, optimism is abound and we hope that we epitomise this attitude.

What you’ll do with the money?

If we win, the money will be used as a contribution to direct marketing e.g. competition on Newstalk/RTE1 to raise awareness in the business community. It will also contribute towards further marketing/sales consultancy where we need the help most.
